For these Christmas holidays we tried something new - hiking in the Drakensberge.

In the course of two weeks we visited four National Parks, all along the base of the Drakensberg Escarpment. Where possible we stayed in park accomododation and explored the parks on day hikes from the hut. To round things off we ended with short road trip to the high plateau of Lesotho.

December is in the rainy season in this part of the country so everything was lush and green. As expected, we got a few rain days but overall the weather held up well enough for plenty of hikng in the sun.
