Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park
In many years of game drives we had never visited the Kalahari so for this recess week we packed our car and headed up north to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park.
Getting there takes some effort so we broke up the long drive with a stopover in Augabies NP. September is the end of the dry season in the Northern Cape, so the falls were relatively tame, but still worth a visit.
From Augabies, we headed straight to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, were we spent 2 nights in Nossop and 3 nights in Tree Rivieren rest camp. Kgalagadi roads are sandy and not all areas are accessible without a 4x4 but since much of the game is hanging out near the main drag we still had plenty of spectacular sightings, including a number of the big cats.
