Another recess week, another road trip to check on our favorite national parks, Camdeboo, Mountain Zebra, and Addo.

On the way to the first park we encountered an unexpected spectacle - swarming locusts. After 7 years of drought the Karoo had a few months of good rains which brought out insects en masse. Driving through a swarm is an impressive sight but you can't help but feel sorry for the farmers in the area.
